Where do I go on Sunday morning?
The best place to head on Sunday mornings is directly to our Welcome Center. This is just inside the main doors on the front of the church.
At our Welcome Center, you will be greeted with delicious refreshments, information about the church, and an opportunity to ask any questions you might have.
What should I wear?
Please feel free to wear whatever is most comfortable. Some people dress up in suits or dresses. Others wear jeans and t-shirts. Whatever you wear, you're welcome.
What do I do with my kids?
We have an amazing program for kids each Sunday called KidZone. This is a children's program that is fun and interactive, using music, games, and stories to teach children about Jesus.
When you enter through the front doors, you will see signs directing you upstairs to our KidZone check-in. Once you've checked them in, you can rest assured that they'll be safe and secure while you attend worship or a Sunday morning Small Group.
Check-in begins at 8:45AM on Sunday mornings.
What do I do during the offering?
We believe that generosity can play a significant role in helping us to deepen our relationship with God. This is why we provide the opportunity for people to give at each of our worship services. That said, while you are welcome to give any time, we do not expect you to give the first time you attend. If you do decide to give, feel free to use one of the offering envelopes in the pew, or to give online at
What type of music should I expect?
Our worship style is a blend of modern and traditional worship music. You will have the opportunity to sing anything from "How Great is Our God" to "How Great Thou Art."
We also have special music at each of our worship services, including a chancel choir, soloists, hand bells, children's choirs, etc.
How do I become a member?
We believe that membership is an important step in our relationship with God. It is a move from "attending" to "belonging" to a local church, a promise to live out God's mission and purpose through that congregation.
We offer membership classes throughout the year. Our only requirements for joining are that you attend worship regularly for at least 1 month, and that you attend membership class, which takes place on a Sunday afternoon for about 2 hours.
Am I allowed to receive Communion?
In the United Methodist Church, we practice Open Communion. This means that anyone, of any background, who desires a relationship with Jesus, may come forward and receive Communion.
Do I have to sing?
There is no obligation to sing during worship. Some people worship through silence. Others sing their hearts out. All are welcome.
Why should I fill out a Connection Card?
The Connection Card is your best way to get connected in the church and take next steps in your relationship with Jesus. Through the Connection Card, you can sign up to volunteer, respond to next steps offered during the sermon, and communicate any prayer requests you might have.
Even better, we have a free gift for you just for filling it out and turning it in during the service.
Do I need to wear a name tag?
We want you to feel welcome at our church. So, we encourage those who attend to wear name tags. This makes it easier for you to learn their names, and for them to learn yours.
Of course, if you prefer not to wear a name tag, there is no pressure. They are simply available for your convenience.
Is there a Sunday School hour?
Our Small Groups take place throughout the week. Some of them meet on Sunday mornings. You can easily sign up for any of our groups by going to www.lynnhaven.church/groups.
How do I get baptized?
Baptism is an incredible step in your relationship with Jesus. It is an opportunity to make public what God has done in your life.
We hold baptism Sundays throughout the year. You can sign up for baptism any time on the back of your Connection Card. We will contact you to let you know when the next baptism event will be held.
